Brisbane home marketed as worst in Australia sold for $668,000. $168,000 over reserve price!

By Winifred Parker

On Saturday 22 August, 50 Deighton Road went up for Auction and sold under the hammer on Saturday for $668,000.

A big congratulations to the Sellers, Buyers & Gunther Behrendt our sales agent.

More than 120 people spilt on to the street as 25 registered bidders contested for the pre-1946 timber home, which had fallen into disrepair.

The family, who have owned the property for around 65 years, were “elated” by the high bid.

The property was sold to a local investor, who Mr Behrendt said was likely to demolish the 427sqm home, which requires a rigorous inspection, council approval, and an expensive demo job.
